Still waiting on the second ascent since the mid 1990's "Angel of Pain' (31) has warded off some of New Zealands strongest climbers. I have been following Derek through his attempts at the second Ascent. Having several days trying the iconic test piece the line still eludes Derek, however the conditions are improving and time will prove another solid level of commitment.
Angel of Pain was first climbed by Erik Telmarge a formidible Swiss climber who is at the forefront of international climbing.
